Book Title: Space
Author: Will Osborne and Mary Pope Osborne
Task: 6. Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not? (To be done after completion of a book.)
(Different from the books what I read so far, I decided to read a nonfiction book about ‘Space’.)
I would DEFINITELY recommend the book, Space to anybody because the facts inside the book are described with easy explanations. For example, when the authors described Solar System, they said,
“Our part of space is called our Solar System. Our solar system is the sun and everything that travels around it.” instead of saying,
“Solar system is the sun with the celestial bodies that revolve around it in its gravitational field.”
Beside that, there are also more elements that make the book interesting.
They are small tags next to the context in each page that explain the definitions of important vocabularies which help the readers to understand the text better. Also, the diagrams in the book give a better understanding of the text.
Before reading this book, I thought space was a boring place with bunch of stars and planets. However, after reading this book, I discovered that Space is an amazing place with unbelievable, and incredible facts. I also learned so many facts about space that are both interesting, and important such as
“One year in Saturn equals 30 years on Earth” or “Because there’s no wind or rain on the moon, footprints in the moon’s dust will last forever.” or “The stars that we can see are 2000 and stars in the universe are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000″and a lot more.
I think Space is a book that suits for any age since it consists stories that are easy to understand but important!
Afterall, who would want to miss a book that is full of fun facts, photos, illustrations, definitions and a lot more! (I wouldn’t!)
