Among all the movements of Symphony No. 4 in G major, I liked the last movement the most. The composer of this music was Gustav Mahler, a Bohemian-born Austrian composer and conductor. He has acknowledged as among the most important late-Romantic/early-Modernist composers. Early Modernist refers to a modern thought, character, or practice. Usually, the music of Gustav Mahler subject to more interpretative visions than other symphonist the side of Beethoven. Mahler’s music is subjective, manifold, and written to embrace a whole world of allusion and emotion. The Symphony No. 4 in G major was written between 1899 and 1901. It has four-movement orchestral work features a solo soprano in the finale. I like the finale part the most is because firstly, even though I couldn’t understand what soprano was singing, I liked her voice. Secondly, I like how the soprano sings so beautifully and smoothly and make me think that this is just a very smooth song but then a powerful and mysterious sound comes out. It made me think that there was going to be a conflict because of the strong sound from orchestra but after that mysterious sound the soprano goes back to smooth music. The other thing that I liked in this movement is the flute sound. (I think it is flute) Whenever the soprano is singing, there is flute playing. The combination of the soprano’s beautiful voice and the flute’s clear sound matches together really well and it made me happy. iconsss
