What Did I Learn About Acrylic Paint?Be Specific.

What I learned about Acrylic paint was that you can do lots of of different types of value changes. I also learned that it is easier to add paint onto your canvas when you add water to your paint. I also learned about analogous, neutral, warm and cold colors.

What Did I Like Most About This Project?Be Specific.

What I liked best about this project was painting. Another thing I liked about this project was sketching my tiger. Another thing that I liked about the project was learning about acrylic paint.

How Do I Feel About My Finished Painting?

In the end I felt good about finishing the painting. The one reason I was happy was because I thought I messed up and in the end the tiger looked really good. This was a fun project except it wasn’t fun when we couldn’t talk

    Reading Response Blog

    January 31st, 2010 by oscar01pd2016

Today I read chapters 14-20 in “Dar and The Spear thrower”. In chapters 14-20 Dar, after many long days of traveling he finally arrives at his destination (which is Toreg’s clan). When Dar arrives everybody in Toreg’s clan Stares at Dar until He mentions that he is looking for Toreg. Then a girl about Dar’s age comes up to Dar and leads him to Toreg. Toreg welcomes Dar and they make the trade. When Dar and Toreg are talking Toreg notices the man mark that Dar has and rushes Dar to a man named Seelan who has the same exact man mark that Dar has Suddenly He knows who Seelan is, its Mora’s brother. Soon Seelan and Dar Become close friend and Dar figures out that Seelan is the person who carved the spear thrower and Seelan soon offers Dar carving lessons. Toreg now give lessons to Dar on how to use the spear thrower and Dar soon masters it and goes out on his first hunt.

One connection I made during reading chapters 14-20 is when the book mentions that Dar’s clothes were still not dry even though he’d left them out overnight. This reminded me of one time during the summer when I went swimming with my clothes on and my clothes were wet the whole day.

“Because you’re not” Seelan said “Everybody must go through a beginners phase to learn anything difficult.” This is my golden passage because when I read this passage it set a spark inside me like it was something really important to me or something. It wasn’t because the sentence had lots of amazing adjectives or vivid verbs it was because it set a spark inside me.

    My Participation Grade In Science

    January 13th, 2010 by oscar01pd2016

There are lots of things that I could improve on and things that I don’t need to improve on now I’ll tell you some of the things that that fall under needs improvement. One thing that I need to improve on is to keep quiet when my teacher is talking because sometimes I get carried away when somebody else is talking to me I will fix this by,when the teacher is talking I will stop talking completely to the person next to me. Another thing that I need to improve on is to listen better in class I will do this by, when somebody else is talking to me while the teacher is talking I will try to ignore them and also stop working completely while the teacher is talking.

    My Journal Snippet

    December 2nd, 2009 by oscar01pd2016

If I had to flee from Shanghai in a hurry then the five things that I would bring are:

    ·      My blanket

    ·      A laptop

    ·      Paper

    ·      Pen/Pencil

    ·      Nintendo DS

I would bring my blanket because I got it when I was born and it is super important to me. I would then bring a laptop so that I could contact relatives so that they could help my family and I. Then I would bring paper and pens/pencil so that I could write letters. Finally I would bring my Nintendo DS so that I could keep myself entertained.

    My Intelligent Goal

    November 12th, 2009 by oscar01pd2016

S.M.A.R.T Goal – My smart goal is to get 90 or above in math I will do this by studying for all my unit tests every day of the week except for on weekends. If I complete this by December/16/2009 I will reward my self with a bag of  Haribo candy.

Week 1- I think that I’m doing well. Everyday I’m inching towards getting to the deadline. Now its finally  my chance to test my strategy of studying for all my unit tests every day of the week except for on weekends because next week I have my decimals unit test. Wish me luck and see you next week.

Week 2- It was a week ago since I tested my strategy of studying for every unit test everyday of the week except for on weekends and it didn’t go so well. I think that I will change my strategy because I think that it is a little to much to study everyday of the week so I think that I will shrink the amount of days that I will study on. Tune in to the world according to Oscar next week to see my next update bye.

Last week- This as you know was the last week for me to complete my smart. This week I’ll see if I have completed my smart goal. This week I will get my report card and I’ll finally see if I got a ninety or above in math. But unfortunately I don’t think that I will complete my smart goal because recently I haven’t been getting the best scores on my math tests, but this  week I’ll have the chance to raise my grade. Lets hope that I get a good grade on my math test. See ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Up close and natural seriously

    Title – The Island Leaf

Describe the project – What did I do?
In my last week in art class I completed a project that I have been working on for the past few weeks. In my quest to complete this assignment I had to follow a number of steps. The frist thing I did was to find a good example of nature except in photo form. After that step of the project I had to abstract the picture in anyway I wanted to. Then I moved on to actually drawing it we also got to shape our paper in anyway shape or form. after that we out lined the pencil on our paintings with glue . Afterward we finally got to paint our paintings. Then when we had finally  finished doing all the painting I had to outline the glue with a black permanent marker. After I had to separate the different values. Then finally we were finished.

Explain how I showed the following in my painting -  Value – Shape – Line – Movement

I showed movement by making tiny island like parts in my painting and this shows movement by transferring your eyes from island to island. I created shape because I use a lot of organic shapes. I showed value by outlining all the different types of value. I finally showed line by having a lot of rough lines in my masterpiece

    November 2nd, 2009 by oscar01pd2016

The book is about a girl named Dara and her family. It all starts with the fact that Dara and her family decide to mobilize and move from their village to a refugee camp because of the war between the Khmer Rouge and the Vietnamese army. When they where moving all trais seemed to converge in some way. When they get to the refugee camp they meets Nea’s family that later on becomes their friends. When Dara’s family first gets there they help them setup and also helps with everything else that they could possibly need. Life in the camp is not easy because the thing s that make you comfortable at home  like the privacy you get when you bathe doesn’t exist in the camp. But on the other hand the supplies were never meager which made the idea of living in a refugee less relentless. When they finally are getting used to life at the camp war brakes out. Then everybody have to flee to the outer rim of Thailand.   In the process of fleeing Nea’s baby brother gets injured by shrapanel while they are searching the food truck for food. After the accident Jantu and Dara were subdued.  But then they find out he has to go to the hospital in another refugee camp that is five miles away from their own and some body had to go with him and that put Jantu into a state of flux.
