Neolithic Acrostic Poem

Written on March 2, 2010 – 7:16 pm | by Kent

This is an assignment we did for social studies.

N eolithic period started from 8,000 B.C.E

Everyone learned to live in houses and larger communities

Other than hunting, they learned planting

Lithic means stone

I found that they had better tools

Trading started to appear

How to train animals were no longer mysteries

Inventions were very popular

Cultures are starting to develop

Paleo means ancient

Almost all the man hunted

Little groups of people lived together

Eating was a problem

Only plants that can heal people are taken

Life was horrible

It’s not easy to find a place to live

Travel happens alot

Home for them were often tents or caves

Interesting animals were often found

Clans were often lead by old members in the clan

Variable: Once I was reading a chinese book and i saw an acient algebra question asking that there some ducks and rabbits in a cage there’s 35 heads and 94 legs, how many ducks and rabbits are there?

The number of ducks and rabbits are variables

Answer to the question:

Number of rabbits=x   Number of ducks=35-x

Rabbits have 4 legs and Duck have 2 legs

4x+2(35-x)=94
4x+70-2x=94
2x=24
x=12
35-x=35-12=23

There 12 rabbits and 23 ducks.

Constant: 1m=100cm is a constant.

Now you probably want to LEAVE……..

Why is 4+y an algebraic expression?

Written on February 25, 2010 – 7:00 pm | by Kent

An algebraic expression is any operation that contains 1 or more variables.

4+y is an algebraic expression because y is a variable.

Now you’re done with the post, so why don’t you LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!

Ode to Oreo

Written on February 22, 2010 – 7:47 pm | by Kent

First, I looked at the Oreo, it looks like an ancient coin covered with some chocolate.

Then I smelled the Oreo, it smells chocolaty and buttery.

Afterwards I put it inside my mouth and had a bite, there was some cracking sounds.

It tasted creamy and chocolaty. And it felt smooth and soft in my mouth.

Therefore it went into my stomach and i felt really good.

At last we were all complaining cause we only get one oreo for an assignment.

Now you may want to LEAVE, or I’ll make you LEAVE!!

Archaeology

Six specialists form an archaeology team: archaeologist, geologist, linguist, chemist,

botanist and paleoanthropologist.

The archaeology team excavate sites and discover artifacts.

An archaeology team is often lead by an archaeologist.

An archaeologist does the excavation with thin brushes and identifies coprolites and fossils.

A Geologist identifies the stratification. A linguist identifies the ancient languages.

A Chemist use radiocarbon Dating which uses the naturally

occurring radioisotope carbon14 (14C) to determine

the age of carbonaceous materials up to about 58,000 to 62,000 years.

And relative Dating which is the science of determining the relative

order of past events, without necessarily

determining their absolute age. They use these two methods to find out

about chemical things in the site.

A Botanist studies about plants. A paleoanthropologist studies prehistory

humans and other creatures.

Now you may want to LEAVE, or I’ll make you LEAVE!!

What Do I Know About Equivalent Fraction

1.To find out if 2 fractions are equivalent or not, you first have to find the Lowest Commom Multiple for their denominators and make them into the same denominators.

Example: 3/5  and  1/3

LCM=15

5×3=15   3×5=15

3×3    1×5

9/15 and 5/15

Now, you can easily add or subtract.

What Do I Know About Fraction Operation

Addition and Subtraction

Addition and Subtraction is kind of easy, you just have to make them equivalent denominators and add or subtract them.( See Above)

Multiplication

Multiplication is the easiest out of all fraction operations. You just have to simplify as you multiply.

Exanple: 3/5 x 10/6

Simplify first(you have to simplify diagonally):1/1 x 2/2 = 1 x 2 =2

If it is a Mixed Number fraction, you just need to make them into improper fraction and do the above.

Divition

Division will be easy if you know Reciprocal. You just need to multiply the first number by the second number’s reciprocal.

Example: 4/5 divided by 5/4

=4/5 x 4/5

=1/1 x 1/1

=1 x 1

=1

If there’s a Mixed Number fraction, you just need to make it into improper fraction and do the above.

Now you mat want to LEAVE, or I’ll make you LEAVE!!

A Time When I Felt Misunderstood

A time when I felt misunderstood was when I have to write a journal in humanities class. I wondered about what to write. At last, I found out what the direction was and finished the journal.
