Here is the link to the website I found this Current Event on…..

http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/gymnastics/news/story?id=5142755

This current event is about how one of the Chinese’s gymnastics bronze medal was taken away to USA because the bronze medal winner, Dong Fangxiao was underage, she was 14 when she went to the Sydney olympic games, but the age requirement was supposed to be 16. So instead, the medal went to the USA gymnastics team.

One of the team members of the USA gymnastics team, Dominique Dawes had said that she was thrilled to have their rightful bronze medal back.

“We are extremely grateful that the IOC and the FIG have taken such a thorough look at the issues that were raised in Beijing,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. “It serves the best interests of sports to make sure there’s always a fair field of play.”

My connection to this event is that many times during daily life, the same thing happens. Like when your friends are playing a game together, somebody thinks someone won, but the real winner is someone else. In the end, we all realize the real winner is that person.

    Wow very interesting current event.
I also think that the USA gymnastics team should get the medal, and they did. I think you really did a good job like how you really put on important details.
