I read several books by Jerry Spinelli and all of the books was about students our age. He writes about friendship. I think that he values friendship very much. In this book Eggs, David, a nine year old boy whose mother dies, and Primrose, a thirteen year old girl who dreams of having a beautiful house, bonds an unlikely friendship. They go on a journey to over come their weaknesses. David doesn’t deny that his mother is dead anymore, because he saw the sunrise with Primrose and that was ok. Primrose is ok with her crackpot mother, because David read her a life time of bedtime stories to her. I think that Jerry Spinelli is a person who has a lot of friends because he right so much about friendship. He would be the friend that would always give good advise to you when you are having problems with your friend.

You do a nice job of supporting your opinion with references to other books Spinelli has written. Do you think he had struggles with friendships and that’s why he writes about them so much?
