What is the conflict? America wishes to raise the chinese currency except china refuses to because they believe US is using protectionism. America wants them to raise the price so that their items will not be as cheap and more of America’s items will be bought.
What groups are involved? China and United States(Washington, Beijing) Barrack Obama, Paul Krugman, Wen Jia bao.

How long has the conflict been going on? Near 2005, not exact though. No official start date.

US is using protectionism which is basically raising the tax on international products so there is no competetion on domestic objects.—Wen Jia Bao
What bias exists in these assumptions? (consider the source)
Before asking China, Japan was asked. Japan agreed and now japan’s currency is falling.
What role do cultural values play in the conflict?
Chinese people believe in Long term orientation. This issue relates to them in the sense that if they approve of increasing their yuan value, it helps them a lot at first but their are many side effects that will eventually be worst.
One American Cultural value is equality. This issue relates to equality because if the yuan currency is raised, the world wide stock market is suppose to be equalized.
How has this conflict been perpetuated over time? What influence has the past had on the present? (social institutions, mass media, political institutions, economics)
Both sides disagree with each other’s reasons, resulting in an none-progressing state.
