Acrylic Painting

In art class, we used acrylic paint to create tiger or character paintings. We learned how to use the paint in different ways and techniques. I made my background smooth, and my character thick and chunky. My background is cool and calming and makes a nice contrast with my vivid character. I blended just the right amount, but my outlining was a little off. We first drew the paintings on the canvas with charcoal. I din’t do very good on that, but I fixed it with the paint.

I loved this project because the acrylic paint was fun to use, and I got to paint on a canvas. Plus, there was many colors of paint to use. I had only done this once before, and it was exiting to get the opportunity to do it again.

Participation of Science Thing!!!!!

Quality of work: I need to not go so fast and do better hand writing. Sometimes the paper in my bag gets torn and crinkled because I don’t use my folder as much as I should. I doodle hearts <3 and :) on my papers because I don't pay attention sometimes.

While working in groups, sometimes I argue or don't contribute ideas. I should work on that. I also don't pay attention during class sometimes, and/or find myself daydreaming about what to eat for lunch or Mr. O's funny shirt or something.

I WILL WORK ON THESE THINGS!!!!

Also……… I like pie and sparkly gel pens

BYE BYEEEE!!!!! <3

My Best Entry

In Humanities, we have to pick a journal snippet we like and put it here.

Dear Journal,

If I had to flee Shanghai unexpectedly, I would bring:
1. My two blankets cause I’ve had them for 8 years.
2. Sackful of clothes. (I like my clothes. Duh.)
3. My photo album. I don’t know why.
4. A picture of my family. That one too.
5. Toiletries. Because I can. Yeah, Oliver!

Sincerely,
Carly.

We Ran The Mile…..

So today in gym class, we ran the mile. I did not reach my goal. No siree. Bu shi. Nip. Nada. Na. Zippo.

I was trying to get at the most 8 minutes and 40 seconds, but I got in TEN MINUTES! TEN SMACKAROODEEDOES! That shows that I don’t work very hard on my S.M.A.R.T goal. Which I barely work on at home. I guess scootering long distances doesn’t help much either.  Nothing can help me at this rate…….

Wrong. I can do something. Right now. At 5:01 p.m. I am going to………………………..

Go on a jog. A nice, evenly paced little runner with my mom waiting at the garage with a stopwatch in hand. Huffing, puffing, and sweating, and the hatred of neighborhood hills. I’ll come home and guzzle a gallon of water. Then I’ll do my homework and maybe take a cat nap. ( Which I do every day….)

And I’ll do this three times a week! And write it in my agenda every day! (Which, by the way, has just dropped to the floor with a satisfying thud,) and I’ll do it right.

If I survive.

My GoAL thAt IS NOt wORkiNg out for me…..

Hey everybody! A checkpoint for my goal. I get on my scooter, (kinda babyish but it’s good exercise….) anyways I get on my scooter and go SUPER long distances. It helps with endurance, and I switch feet on the scooter often, so they are equal. The running wasn’t helping, so going longer than three laps on a scooter could postitevely help with ONE lap…….

For you folks back in Dunlap, Bloomington, and Morton, (yes you know who you are,) a S.M.A.R.T goal is a goal for any subject. Usually school related, I must say. I have many S.M.A, yeah ok you get it…….. goals. But somehow I manage…. :)

Anyhoo, S.M.A.R.T means……… S: Specefic     M: Measurable      A: Attainable      R: Realistic       T: Timely

Flower Burst

carly-g

This is my watercolor painting. In case you can’t see the picture, it is what the title says. A flower burst.

In this project, I learned that wavy and curvy lines give a sense of movement. I also learned that glue makes a very nice border. :)   Abstract does not mean make it crazy random. You can make one just as abstract as mine. I learned allot about watercolor techniques, like blending too many colors makes brown.  I had a few moments where I panicked and blended the wrong thing.

My painting uses lots of organic shapes, which means that they are wavy and natural. I found a picture on www.freefoto.com that had pretty white and pink and yellow flowers that were NOT photoshopped thank goodness but yeah. It evolved into this. (Above.) duh. :)

SMART Goals Checkpoint

The last time we ran the mile, I finished second to last. :( I got 10 minutes and a couple seconds. :( :(

But I haven’t really worked on it…… It’s sortof hard to tell myself to run and exercise for school. Hey, but my compound has a pretty good gym, so I CAN  go on the treadmill……….. I WILL!!!!!

I will also go running for 10 minutes today, and tomorrow, and on the weekend, I will jog with my dad so he can time me. I will jog around the block, come back, go around the circle at the end of my street, and repeat.

Running time, running time, time to get all fit and stuff! I just ate like twenty pounds of Mentos, so I’m feeling kinda bloated.
