The new dragon rider, Eragon Shadeslayer, after the epic battle with the urgals, is going to Ellesmera, the elves capital, to receive further training to help him cast down the black tyrant, Galbatorix. Onnce they are there, Eragon and Saphira are greeted with a surprise; Another Dragon Rider named Oromis and his dragon Glaedr. The receive their lessons everyday, with breaks in-between. With horror, Eragon learns that his mis-worded blessing in Farthen Dur made the child shield others with any type of pain or misfortune. He continues his teaining, and then truly recognizes his feelings for Arya, but she reuffs him and leaves. Eragon’s lessons are speeding up so fast his master Oromis is very proud. After a traditional Blood-Oath Celebration, Eragon’s features are now like an elf. He now also has the supernatural powers the elves have. Glaedr gives Eragon his heart of hearts, which is a dragons inner heart. Eragon also learns it’s value and importance. Eragon then returns to the Empire and joins the battle on the Burning Plains, where during the battle King Hrothgar dies and Eragon learns that Murtagh survived, but turned evil because of Galbatorix and is the rider of Thorn. Murtagh spares Eragon after defeating him, but takes Zar’roc and reveals he and Eragon are both sons of Morzan, the first and most loyal of Galbatorix’s servants. Little but talk happens after the battle, aside from the dwarves grieving from the loss of their king, Hrothgar.

• Describe one connection that can be made between your book and another piece of literature (other books you have read, a short story, folktale etc.) There may be a similarity among characters or a similar theme, setting etc.
I think this book holds similarity to the book Dragon Rider. There is a person, dragons, battle scenes, daring plans. There are also several fictional characters, in Eldest there are elves and urgals, in Dragon Rider there are tiny people and monsters.
