The IB work is hung, their Art exams are nearly all done and the Opening is on Friday, from 6 until 8 in the third floor corridor.  Everyone is welcome- there will be great food, an opportunity to meet the artists and to give congratulations in their guest books .Come and help to celebrate the students’ achievements. I am very proud of them.

    Kate,
I continue to be impressed by the work your students produce. It’s astounding. Although I know you’ll “deny” it, their work has so much to do with your teaching and your inspiration. It’s rare to see this quality of work produced consistently, year after year. Congratulations to your students, and to you.

    I love your blog.

    Hey Mrs. Thornburn!

I don’t know if you remember me (flaming red hair?), I was in your 10th grade art class at SAS (2006-2007), with Frankie Jon, Pong, Ed etc.

I just wanted to say hi, and tell you that I was really impressed with the work I saw on facebook from this years exhibition. I did Art HL here too (Germany), and I must say that a lot of my work was still influenced from the things you taught me in 10th grade. I still have my books from back then, and I used them to continue research and develop my ideas!

    Take care,
    Sonia

  • I appreciate your lovely comments Linda and Sonia. I’m pleased that you enjoy the blog.

Of course I remember you Sonia! I’m so happy to hear that you have continued with art- I know remember that you were struggling to fit it into your timetable. Do you have any images of your IB work online? I’d love to share it with my students.

Thanks for taking the time to write,
    Kate
