This project was one of the most exciting projects I’ve done in art class. We made clay vessels using the coil technique, and also painted them afterwards. :)

I learned several new things about working with clay during this project. First of all, I learned how to make a vessel using the coil technique. It’s a technique when you make coils and stack them up one by one in whatever shape you’d like your vessel to be. My vessel was planned to be vase shaped, so I stacked up the coils circularly all the way to the top. I also learned that you have to wedge your clay before you start building your sculpture or vessel, because if it has air bubbles in them, it will blow up when it gets fired. One last thing that I learned was how to keep your clay useable for a long time. If your working on your vessel, and there’s a clay left sitting exposed in air, it’s better if you spray some water on it, and wedge it so it doesn’t dry out. To keep your clay vessel wet, so you can edit it, you can use a wet paper towel to keep it moist for quite a long time.

The shape of my sculpture didn’t change much, but the colors sure did. I planned on painting my vessel with mostly cool, but with warm colors such as pink and yellow, but I only used cool colors on my real vessel. Instead of pink and yellow, I added metallic colors and silver, to give a shining effect to my vessel.

I like how my vessel turned out, because it looks pretty similar to what I planned to make, and it looks finished. This time, I managed my time well enough so that I could take a long time fixing up the weird places of my vessel after I finished. I did my best to fill in all the space possible, and I really like the mixture of colors that I used to paint my vessel. Overall, I think I did well in this project. :)

Que tienen que hacer? :D

Que tienen que hacer? What do they have to do? In Spanish class, we interviewed our classmates on what they have to do, and made a comic out of it… :) enjoy

Journal – Rise and Fall of the Sparkling Mogshllies

Okay… This journal is the WEIRDEST,AWKWARDEST, AWESOMEST, DIRTIEST journal in the WORLD.

* I warn you. If your weak with unsanitary stuff, DO NOT read it. You might get a heart attack.

This is SERIOUSLY. the weirdest journal ever. I don’t even know what I wrote myself….. I think I went crazy when I wrote this journal.. yeah.

“Just clean it up already!! Sooner or later, it’s going to grow a kingdom of fungi. Besides, it’s time for you to clean up YOUR side of the room anyways.” Jesse complained in an exasperated voice.

We stood in awkward silence, staring blankly at the left over pizzas that I abandoned about two weeks ago.

“What a pain… Can you ever sound more like a mom?” I moaned. The wooden floor squeaked as I walked out of my room. Trying to avoid Jess’s complains about the disheveled environment I live in.

I strolled down the dorm halls, in to the library where the 7th grade assignments were posted. I quickly skimmed through the Roman history books to start my project on how Rome rose and fell.  ‘I’m going to make that history teacher acknowledge me for sure!’ I thought, as I dove deep down into the book. I read harder and harder, but eventually started to doze off. When I cleared my mind and looked in the book for where I left reading, there was nothing but moss green objects that surrounded me.

“Welcome to ‘Sparkling Mogshllies.’ Where hand sanitizers take over everything and anything! Now we’ll start our tour from how it all started and how it fell apart. Be sure to keep up! Certain creatures can affect you with their fungi disease. Now let’s start the tour shall we?” The blue creature went on and on about things that I never even heard of, as a spark of hope lightened up my mind. ‘Rise and fall? That sounds familiar! Maybe this might be a chance for me to master Rome’s rise and fall without reading boring books! Of course, that’s if I make it alive.’ The thought planted some hope in my mind so I thought I’d give it a try.

The blue substance started the lecture as it walked me through the horrible scenes of the fallen apart kingdom. According to history, a group of green fungus came searching for their place to settle two weeks ago. The place they settled was PERFECT. It was in the middle of the pizza that a human called Arial abandoned. The cheese was soggy and warm, and there were almost no light interrupting inside the peaceful pizza tray. Their neighbors were ants who already agreed to protect them as they provided them food, and trade was always available with the red fungus growing in the trashcan.

The green fungus established a great empire within two days, as they continued to conquer more land such as the blue cheese that once was cedar, and the socks that once was white. The rotten cheesecake that once was owned by the maggots was now in the hands of the blue fungus, and of course, the maggots were used as slaves. As the fungus empire spread, there were more gaps in between their secured areas. Things started to fall apart just like the gaps that started to form around the boarders of the empire. Affluent generals bribed their soldiers, and made more and more worthless money. The king was only there to fulfill his own will, so the citizens were filled with complaints. With other various reasons, the government started to fall apart, and the empire began to weaken.

Between the gaps the army couldn’t protect, the vigorous cockroaches marched in, fully armed with rotten banana peels. Their cruel, harsh attacks accurately struck the fungus empire, and things started to collapse. The king got assassinated a long time ago, and the citizens trembled in fear, as they watched the cockroaches take over their empire. The horrid war continued on for 5 long days, and finally came to an end.

The result of that war is in your room. The blue fungus empire has been harshly attacked by the cockroaches, and is producing a smell that humans can’t possibly resist. Go clean it up now. NOW. NOw. Now….now…. nowwwww…………

Everything started to blur as I opened my eyes and found myself back in the library. “ Didn’t I tell you to clean your side of the room HOURS AGO? How the heck did you end up falling asleep in the library? Ugh… You’re the worst roommate ever!” Jesse screamed as if she was about to blow. I didn’t even have time to think twice. The instant Jesse reminded me, I flew upstairs and checked inside the pizza tray. Have any ideas of what was in it? I’ll leave it to you guys for the rest, but there’s one thing I got to tell you. Don’t leave leftover food inside a hot room. It might cause world war III….

Sammartini Concertino in G

laaaaaaaaaa……… Tengo que leer manga!!! not that its related to my strings test or anything… :P

anyways… Here’s Sammartini Concertino, and the metronome speed is 72 per quarter note. It IS the original speed, but somehow it feels like it should be faster…. because it’s easier that way. :D

Science – Essential question #1

1. How would you feel if your home was destroyed by an earthquake or volcano?

If the place I feel the safest got destroyed, my mind will be very unstable. I’ll be very angry because of all the property damage, and I’ll be sad, since all my possessions would’ve got destroyed with the house. Since I spent a large amount of my lifetime at ‘home’ :) , I’ll really miss it. My memories at that particular house, secret writings I put on the wall, the time capsule I buried in my backyard with my friends. All of them will be gone. If that ever happened, I’ll be very depressed. :(
